This month's trunk show brought to you
all the way from Bad Axe, MI (in Huron County) by

Barbie Brooks
and
The Backstreet Quilt Shop

Looking for the usual "Show and Tell" we have at each meeting?

Barbie began her "quilt walk" in 1996 when a quilt shop opened near her home in Pigeon, MI. Twenty years later, she is a well-established teacher and mentor, and owns her own quilt shop with her daughter, Beckie Binder.

Yes, Barbie has made all of the quilts you will find below.

Lovely embroidery stitches created with an eye to perfection was the objective of a one-day handwork class taught by Barbie Brooks of the Backstreet Quilt Shop.

Hosted by Hearts to Holly in Charlevoix, the class focused on producing a wool needlebook trimmed in blanket stitches and featuring a colorful lone flower on the outside cover.

There is unofficial talk of bringing Barbie back to teach many more "embellishment" stitches. Stay tuned.

Each of these Sunbonnet Sues is about 1-5/8" tall.
You have to really enjoy handwork to tackle this.
