The Quilts of Valor group meets once a month on the 4th Friday from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Friendship Centers of Emmet Co. in Petoskey.

We make quilts and present them to veterans who have served in any branch of the military. We are affiliated with the national Quilts of Valor Foundation.

Please bring a sewing machine, extension cord, your personal sewing supplies, and a willing heart to honor our Veterans. Bring a lunch or lunch is available at the center for $3.00. Some quilt kits are available or you may choose one of your own, we have lots of fabric.

QOV patterns, fabrics, and guidance for following the Quilts Of Valor Foundation requirements are available at the workshop days. If you choose to make a top at home, please use quilt shop quality fabric in patriotic colors. Do not use fabric with metallic, glitter, florals, or religious themes.

FRIENDSHIP FRIDAY -- We meet on the third Friday of each month from 1-4 pm at the Petoskey Friendship Center. Please join us. There is lots of room to work; new members to meet; lots of tips and sharing and always a fun demo.

We are always looking for folks to share a short demo. Please let Debbie Jarvis or Jan Gray know if you have something you would be willing to share. It may be something practiced, to you, but new to someone else, we’d love to see it!

Celebrating our 40th Anniversary!

The September Tea Program, celebrating the Guild's 40th Anniversary, will be presented by Jan Gray and Tresa Keys.

Guests are welcome! Members will bring a dish to pass; sign up at a meeting for what you'd like to bring.

Our activity for the evening will be a One Yard Challenge project.

One Yard Challenge Rules:

1) Using the torn fabrics from the January program, make anything you like from those fabrics. (Consider a wall hanging or larger quilt, a purse/bag, an ottoman or tuffet, a hat or jacket).

2) You may remove up to three fabrics from the January collection.

3) You may add more fabrics that help with your creation.

4) Be ready to show off your talent at the meeting and vie for prizes!
