  Hospice Quilts

  Sewing Meetings:   Every Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to noon. You may also sew at home and deliver to a coordinator. If schools are closed due to weather, the group does not meet.

  Where:  Hiland Cottage, 1 Hiland Drive, Petoskey

  What we do:  We make lap quilts for McLaren Hospice patients, both those at home and those in the hospice facility. 

  Specifications:  Quilts should be approximately 36 in. by 48 in.

  FRIENDSHIP FRIDAY -- We meet at the Petoskey Friendship Center from 1-4pm. Please  join us. There is lots of room to work; new members to meet; light refreshments; lots of tips and sharing and always a fun demo.

  We are always looking for folks to share a short demo. Please let Tresa or Jan know, if you have something you would be willing to share. It may be something practiced, to you, but new to someone else, we’d like to see it. 

  The Children's Community Service group meets to sew but quilters may also sew at home. Deliver finished quilts to the coordinator; Shirley Nunes  (231) 675-9849. 

  The quilts are given to local hospitals and our Women's Resource Center for children up to 18 years of age.

  Quilts of Valor - New location starting 2024

  Sewing meetings:  The Quilts of Valor group meets once a month on the 2nd Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

  Where:  Emmet Co. EMS Station, 1201 Eppler Rd., Petoskey.

  What we do:  We make quilts and present them to veterans who have served in any branch of the military.  We are affiliated with the national Quilts of Valor Foundation.

  Specifications:  QOV patterns, fabrics, and guidance for following the QOVF requirements are available at the workshop days. If you choose to make a top at home, please do use quilt shop quality fabric. Do not use fabric with metallic, glitter, florals, or religious themes. Please use patriotic colors.
